At the IKO Conference in June we looked at the rise of NoSQL database systems, and in particular graph databases. In this account of a major transformation for the Marriott International's mainframe central reservations system, we have a great case study of the drivers towards NoSQL and away from relational databases. The case study is about Couchbase, a key-value store, document-oriented database (different from graph databases).
